Shop n Sew

I forgot to mention lunch. We went to one of our fav places for some grub. The Hickory Grill. I had a very good steak sandwich. Its a nice place to stop between two quilt shops.

Here are the brushed wovens I purchased at The Quilting Bee.

Oh yea, the bargain corner always has something wonderful for me. Like this one.

Check out this jumbo spool the Hubby won for me on Ebay. Ya he's a keeper.

Today I went to one of the local thrift stores and scored some really nice wool skirts. I already washed, dried and have them ready to be reincarnated.
I also bought this purse for like a buck. At first glance I was just after the handles. Upon closer inspection I realized it is brand new. I just may use it as is for a while. Well maybe I will embellish it a little.

I also worked most of the morning on my sisters quilt. Did some housework and bought groceries.
BTW Gail Pan posted block two in her free BOM series today! It is so cute! Sew head on over there and get stitching. Bunny Hill also posted block two and it is sweet too!

Purse Parade

My sweet Sister asked me to put up handbag photos, so here they are...

Happy Stitches,

Quilting Bee Melody

The other day my little guy wanted to play cars. I decided to take my 'Bumble Bee Melody' out of the box she has been in since 1991. After all who cares if she is MIB. It's not like I plan on selling her. I bought her just because she is named Melody. After all someday my little guy may marry and his wifey might sell all my fabric and collectibles on EBay. ;-) So anyway, I am going to call her Quilting Bee Melody instead. I put her in RC Brum and raced her around the house. So far she is holding her own against the Speed Racer car, The Mach 5. She decided that there is plenty of room in that backseat for fabric and notions. I had so much fun with my friends yesterday visiting a couple of Quilt Shops and going to lunch. Here is some Amy Butler fabric we bought yesterday at The Gallery in Mercer, PA. So fresh and Springy looking.
Here is my QP (Quilting Pal) Ann showing her beautiful quit top to Linda at The Quilting Bee in New Wilmington, PA. I just love Carrie's designs, click on the link and check out her great blog. I believe the pattern is Scarlet Begonia.

Another stitchery for the family room quilt. This is the monkey I draw on all the notes I leave for my Hubby. This was from a reminder of an optical appt.

Here is what my hubby and little one look like. ;-) This is a fun project and sew far sew fast.

Way to go Steelers

The Steelers won the Super Bowl! Woo hoo! You know it was close there for a few minutes.

My little one made this sign and taped to a shipping box. I just love him. Cute and sweet.

I had quite a few hours to my self on Friday night. Stitchy time for me. I decided to make my TT block into a redwork. I may make again in the future as an applique. I can't wait for the next one. It's not to late to start on this for yourself or as a gift, just hop on over to Bunny Hill. I also stitched another of the little ones drawings for the family quilt. I finished but forgot to take another picture. The next one is one of my drawings.

I am still trimming up the blocks for my Sisters quilt. I know, I am slow.

Hugs & Stitches,
